"ABA is the science in which the principles of behavior are applied to improve socially significant behaviors."1
At OABS we focus on reinforcement to teach new behaviors and skills to persons diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Although ABA is most popularly known for its application in the treatment of Autism, it is not a therapy or service exclusively for people on the Autism Spectrum. Interestingly enough, ABA is applicable to all living organisms. Fun fact! ABA can help with a wide variety of behavioral concerns such as: criminal psychology, substance abuse disorders, PTSD, animal training, and even NASA uses behavior analysis to solve social problems.2 The applications are endless! As for us, we focus on the treatment of ASD and other pervasive developmental disabilities; targeting areas such as social skills, communication, toileting, hygiene, academics, and more.

This can be a scary moment in a parent's life. But, never fear! We are here to help. Just follow the simple steps outlined below:

We will meet with you to discuss your concerns, and we can answer any questions you may have about the services we offer.
Step 3: Initial Assessment
If you decide that you want to proceed with services, we will begin by getting the medical insurance stuff handled, and then conduct an initial assessment. This assessment will help the development of your child's individualized program.
Step 4: Creating a Treatment Program
We will work as a team, as we know that you are the expert on your child. Your input is valuable! Together, we will create a treatment plan that is designed specifically for your child, taking into consideration their assessment results, your family needs, your culture, and your values.
